The two could not look back as they ventured out of the Underworld. Hades allowed Orpheus to take Eurydice back to the mortal world. Hades is willing to let Eurydice go but Orpheus has to agree that he will not look. Orpheus’ songs softened the hearts of Hades and Persephone. His sentence can be revoked by purchasing the Court Musician's Sentence (which costs one Diamond) from the House Contractor. Orpheus plays the saddest song and Hades and Persephone feel bad for him. As Orpheus descends to Hadestown to rescue Eurydice, his music and poetry awaken peoples memories of spring and joy. Mitchells fascination with this story has taken her on journey across mediums, one that is as winding as her heros quest. However, Orpheus was recently locked into solitary confinement by Lord Hades, due to his refusal to sing. In the story, Orpheus sings a song so sweet, it melts the heart of Hades.
